The mosque was constructed in 2016 and is one of the few mosques in Oman that can accommodate over 5,000 worshippers at any time. The mosque features twin minarets located in the centre, with two similar minarets flanking the main prayer hall. The architecture of the mosque is designed to be in keeping with traditional Omani architecture. Inside the mosque, the walls of the prayer hall consist of intricate Islamic calligraphy, intricate figurative designs, as well as verses from the Quran, all of which are illuminated by natural light entering through the olive-tinted glass skylights. The mosque also includes other amenities such as a library, classrooms, and a large ornamental fountain in the courtyard. The courtyard also includes a large fruit tree garden with trees representing various parts of the world including The United States, Europe, Africa, and the Arab world. Visiting Hours:

The Al Qurum West Mosque in Muscat, Oman, is open to visitors between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. and between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. daily. Visitors must adhere to a strict dress code when visiting, and must at all times be covered from wrists to ankles with no bare skin showing.
