is an old mosque located in the Wilayat of Al Fayah, Governorate of Al Sharqiyah South (Batina), Sultanate of Oman. It is the representative of the Islamic civilization in Oman and is considered to be one of the oldest and most prominent Islamic monuments in the country. It was built in 913 AH (1507 AD) during the reign of Imam Sultan Bin Saif Al Ya’rubi and was considered a great and ancient mosque at that time. It has an impressive architectural design with its courtyard, terraces and its nine domes, spread over three levels. The mosque is surrounded by a two-meter-high brick wall and is topped with three watch towers, symbolizing protection and safety. It is still used as a place of worship for residents of the vicinity and for visitors. It is one of the most famous mosque in Oman which you must visit.

The Al Mawalih West Mosque in Oman is a modern Islamic-style mosque. The central prayer hall is constructed of a grid of small, elongated domes and forty small circles, supported by granite and stone columns that circle the central courtyard. The domed structure is constructed from marble, limestone, and granite and is decorated with tile mosaics. The facade of the mosque is constructed of white carved stone resulting in decorative geometric patterns and ornate arabesque designs. The main prayer hall is also designed with sophisticated details throughout and has its own adjacent library. The minarets are located at the corners of the central prayer hall, contributing to the aesthetics of the mosque. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
