Brief History:
is a tourist attraction in the Wilayat of Rustaq that lies at the base of the al-Hazam Mountain. The mosque was built in the early 20th century by Sultan bin Ahmed al-Busaidi. It is believed to be one of the oldest mosques present in Rustaq. The mosque follows the traditional minaret-based model that is seen in traditional Bahraini, Omani and Qatari mosques. The mosque has a big prayer hall, a large courtyard and a few small rooms. It is an important religious destination for thousands of people who visit the city of Rustaq on a regular basis. The mosque has been renovated several times since its construction. The last renovations were done in 2002 by Sultan bin Saif bin Ahmed al-Busaidi of the Saif bin Ahmed Al-Busaidi family. The renovations also included upgrades in aesthetics, with the mosque now featuring intricate art work and paintings of verses from the Qur'an, as well as further development of the architectural landscape of the mosque. It is one of the most famous mosque in Oman which you must visit.

The Al Hazam South North Mosque in Oman is located in the Wilayat of Barka near the Souq Al Safilah. The closest airport to the mosque is Muscat International Airport which is located just over 23 miles away. The mosque serves as a popular pilgrimage site for Muslims and visitors from around the world. The mosque has prayer and Qur'anic study facilities as well as a library and a hall for people to make use of within the building. For local transport, there are buses that serve the area close to the mosque and visitors are advised to arrange transportation prior to their visit. However, there is no specific address for the mosque and most people have to ask around for it. The mosque is open to visitors all year round but all visitors are requested to dress in appropriate attire that covers their arms and legs and to respect local customs. beautiful masjid.
