Brief History:
Al Hail West Mosque is located in Seeb, Oman. It is one of the largest mosques in Oman and is known for its unique architectural design. The mosque was built in the late 18th century by SheikhTurki bin Saleh Al Hail. It was designed in the style of traditional Arabic architecture, featuring a minaret, the main prayer hall, and a separate minaret for the Azan or call to prayer. The mosque is particularly notable for its extensive collection of Roman and Islamic artifacts, including beautiful hand-crafted tiles and intricately carved wooden doors. The mosque is also home to several rare books, manuscripts, and documents, collected over the years by SheikhTurki and his family. It is a popular destination for visitors due to its historical significance and religious importance. It is one of the most famous mosque in Oman which you must visit.
Architecture:
The Al Hail West Mosque is a modern Islamic architecture, with a mixture of traditional Islamic and contemporary designs. The exterior of the mosque reflects this, with a central dome surrounded by four secondary arches, and four accompanying minarets. The four minarets are adorned with golden crescents on their tips, while the walls of the mosque are covered with elaborate floral motifs. Inside, there are two prayer halls, one for men and one for women, that are separated by a corridor. Both prayer halls feature columns and prayer niches decorated with Islamic calligraphy. The mosque also features a large courtyard where worshippers gather for congregational prayers. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
