Brief History:
: The Al Ghubrah South Mosque is a mosque in the Al Ghubrah district of Muscat, Oman. Built by the Al Ghubrah South family, it is one of the oldest and largest mosques in the Sultanate. Completed in the early 1900s, the mosque is set on a two-storey building with a main hall, an outside terrace, a library, and various other sections. It has been known for its distinctive architecture, namely the presence of three ornate domes and a grand marble-tiled courtyard decorated with intricate carvings. The mosque is popularly visited by locals and tourists alike and is known for its serenity and peaceful atmosphere. It is one of the most famous mosque in Oman which you must visit.

The Al Ghubrah South Mosque in Oman is a modern mosque built in 2016. It is based on traditional Islamic architecture, featuring a main prayer hall, ancillary buildings, and a landscaped courtyard. The main prayer hall is faced with marble and contains the Mihrab, the minbar, and the maksurah. The courtyard is surrounded by a landscaped garden, while the ancillary buildings contain a library, classrooms and ablution areas. The mosque is actively involved in the community, holding lectures, classes, prayer groups, and other events. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.

The visiting hours of the Al Ghubrah South South Mosque in Oman vary according to the day of the week. On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, visiting hours are from 8:00am to 1:00pm and 4:00pm to 7:00pm. On Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, visiting hours are from 4:00pm to 7:00pm.
