If you’re traveling by car, you can find Al Aqur South West Mosque in approximately four hours from the airport in Muscat. Head south along Sultan Qaboos Highway and take a right at the first intersection to get onto Al Faribah Road. Follow this road for about 10 kilometers and you should pass five intersections. Turn Left at the sixth intersection onto Al Ibtihalat Road. The Al Aqur Mosque will be about 200 meters on your right. If you’re planning to take a bus, there are several options. Al Qala’a Transport provides a route from Mutraitah Merkez Station to Al Aqur South West Mosque. The bus leaves at 8am and arrives at the mosque at 1:30pm. Another option is the Khasab Trans service which leaves from the Batinah Expressway bus station in Muscat, and arrives at the mosque at 10am. The closest airport is about 40 kilometers from the mosque, at Muscat International Airport. There are several car rental companies located at the airport, so you can rent a car and drive to the mosque in about 40 minutes. The mosque is open Monday through Saturday from 8am to 4pm. It is closed on religious holidays and Sundays. Visitors are welcome to explore the mosque and its grounds.
