The International Pentecostal Holiness Church originated in 1898, when several Wesleyan and Methodist ministers and their congregations united to form the Pentecostal Holiness Church. The founding members emphasized a need for a more expressive worship style and an emphasis on Spirit-filled living. In 1907, the IPHC formed from this union and established its first American headquarters in Oklahoma. The IPHC continued to grow in the United States and abroad and became an international denomination in 1967, when it formed an alliance with several African Pentecostal churches. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Namibia.
