United Reformed Church in Namibia (URCNA) was founded in 1992 by members of six Reformed Churches in South Africa and by Rev. Dirk van Reenen. These churches joined together with the intention of creating one unified organization, the United Reformed Church in Namibia. UCRNA is a member of Orthodox Presbyterian Church and has a decentralized structure, with each local congregation having its own autonomy. The organization adopts a mission statement from the Bible: ‘We proclaim Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, and seek to glorify Him in all we do’. It is also active in certain humanitarian projects as well as providing assistance to refugees and those affected by poverty, conflict, and other social ills. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Namibia.
