The worship at Thattayil Orippurathu Bhagavathi Temple mainly involves a series of rituals. The morning begins with a garland offering that is followed by a pooja – both of which are done for the principal deity, Bhagavathi. In the afternoon, aarti and Bhajan are performed. In the evening after pooja, bhajan and aarti are performed. On the last day of the four day Navaratri festival, a special ritual called Chottuvilakku is done. The entire temple complex is lit with oil lamps, and there is a procession of devotees around the temple. The temple also holds various festivals which include the annual Thiruvathira Sreemahotsavam.
