The Siġġiewi Church Of St Nicholas is a Roman Catholic Church located in Siġġiewi, Malta. It is dedicated to Saint Nicholas of Myra, the patron saint of sailors and merchants. It is also the mother church of Sta Venera Parish. It is one of the best churches in Malta which you must visit.

History:

The church is mentioned in the tax registers of 1575 as "Sancti Nicolai de Signo". It is believed to be of prehistoric origin, and was rebuilt and enlarged several times throughout its history. It has been rebuilt after suffering damage during various times in its history, including during the Great Siege of 1565, the earthquake of 1693, and a siege by the Ottomans that took place in 1798. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Malta.

The church features a Baroque facade and dome that are both from the 18th century. It also features a bell tower from 1688 and two bell towers from 1720.
