The church was founded in 1978 and serves the surrounding communities with an English-language liturgical presence. The church belongs to the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America under the spiritual guidance of His Eminence Metropolitan Gerasimos of San Francisco. History:

The Orthodox Church of St. George was founded in Turlock, California, in 1978. Initially, the parishioners held services at a local hotel and later acquired a prefabricated building situated on a ranch in town. In 2003, the parish acquired its present property, a former Masonic Temple. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Malta.
