Balzan Parish Church is a Roman Catholic parish church in Balzan, Malta. It is dedicated to the Assumption of Our Lady and is the oldest place of Catholic worship in Balzan. The church was built in 1658 and was refurbished in 1750 and 1821. Its most prominent features are the richly-decorated Baroque altars. It is one of the best churches in Malta which you must visit.

History:

Balzan Parish Church was built in 1658 under the direction of then-parish priest, Father Vincenzo Bonelli. The first chapel in the area had been smaller and was dedicated to St Mary Magdalene. In 1688, a chapel dedicated to the Annunciation of Our Lady was added. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Malta.
