The Church of the Discovery of the Holy Cross In Lithuania is a Roman Catholic church located in Vilnius, Lithuania. The church was built in 1789 to commemorate the 600th anniversary of the martyrdom of Władysław Jagiełło, the Grand Duke of Lithuania and King of Poland. Its interior is decorated with frescoes, altars, sculptures, and paintings depicting scenes from the life of the Virgin Mary, Jesus, and other saints. The church has undergone several renovations, most recently in 2001. It is one of the most impressive baroque churches in Vilnius and features the largest collection of Late Baroque paintings in Eastern Europe. The church is open to visitors most days of the week and provides religious services and events.
