The worship of Chamunda Devi at the Kangra temple begins every morning with the priests performing pooja, or ritual worship, to the goddess. A bell is rung during the pooja, and prasad is offered. After the pooja is complete, the priest recites the Chamunda Chalisa, a forty-verse hymn in praise of the goddess. Devotees then offer prayers to the goddess and light diyas, or oil lamps, inside the temple. Devotees are also expected to carry out a ritual offering of food and flowers to the goddess. The offerings are usually kept in the form of a stainless steel plate.
