The worship method of the Shri Digambar Jain Temple in Ayodhya is an ancient practice, which includes a variety of rituals that have been carried on for many generations. The main puja in this temple is performed to deity of Dada Guru Padampad, the state deity of Uttar Pradesh. This temple follows the traditional Digambar sect of Jainism and the main decorative feature of this temple is the large golden idol of Lord Parshwanath. Some of the other deities worshipped at the temple are Lord Parshwanath, Lord Mahaveer, Lord Mahavira, Lord Adinath, and many other Jain gods and goddesses. The temple also contains five prayagas (water places of worship). During the puja ceremony, Jains perform parikrama (circumambulation) around the deity and chant mantras and offer flowers, incense and fruits. They also make donations to the poor and physically disabled related to Jainism like the Mahaad or Kshatriya priests. This temple also includes a Poshayatra and a Navakar Mantra. The Navakar Mantra is said to be uttered by Lord Adinath for self-purification and is normally recited or chanted by Jain priests.
