History:
Wadi Rum has been inhabited for thousands of years, with evidence of early human activity in the area dating to at least the Chalcolithic period, or possibly even earlier. It is known that many Neolithic and post-Neolithic societies lived in the area, as evidenced by a number of rock art panels located around the area. During the Ottoman era, the area was initially part of the province of Damascus, followed by the Sharifate of Ma'an before becoming part of the British Mandate of Transjordan and ultimately part of the Kingdom of Jordan. Wadi Rum This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Jordan.

Wadi Rum is the largest wadi, or valley, in the Jordanian desert, and covers a massive 7,500 km2 (2,900 mi2) in area. It is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including ibex, deer, foxes, and various reptile species.
