Shonan Central Church is a historic Christian church located in the city of Fujisawa, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. Originally founded in 1885 by missionary William Doane, it is the oldest church still standing in all of Japan. It is one of the best churches in Japan which you must visit.

The Shonan Central Church was established by missionary William Doane, who was sent to Japan by the American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions in 1885. Doane, born in 1835, became the pastor of the church and settled close to it, constructing the first building with his own hands. The church was dedicated to serving the local community and providing support for missionaries working in the area. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Japan.
