It opened in April 2011 and provides services such as various activities for all ages, family workshops, cultural classes, after-school programs and performing arts. History Lifehouse Yokosuka was founded in 2011 by a partnership between the Yokosuka City government and the US Navy, in an effort to strengthen the community by providing greater recreational and cultural opportunities. The facility provides 3,200 m3 of educational space to serve the residents of Yokosuka and its surrounding communities. It is funded mainly by the Yokosuka City government, with financial and other support from partnering institutions and granting agencies. Lifehouse Yokosuka currently serves over 50,000 people annually.
