Karuizawa Union Church was founded in 1927 by the United Presbyterian Church of Japan, who sent out a mission to the resort town of Karuizawa. The church soon became a place of refuge and fellowship for westerners escaping the heat of the summer. As the congregation grew, so did the services offered at the church. Today, Karuizawa Union Church continues to serve its parishioners, through Bible study, prayer meetings, home bible studies, confession, communion and worship.
