History:

is an ancient shrine located in Gurdwara Gurdshahi at Katra, Jammu. It is a sacred place for devotees of the Sikh faith and attracts thousands of pilgrims from different parts of India and abroad. Devotees recite prayers from the holy book and chant mantras and spiritual hymns dedicated to Baba Budha Sahib. At the time of festivals and special occasions, the shrine is draped with large number of colorful flags to combine their spiritual journey with festivities. The traditional method of worship at the Dargah Baba Budha Sahib in Jammu-and-Kashmir is to light a diya (lamp) and offer fruit or cooked food. The offering is known as a nazri. Prayers and songs dedicated to Baba Budha Sahib are also recited during worship. Devotees also perform a circumnavigation of the shrine seven times (known as parikrama) and offer a chadar (sheet) in his memory.
