The worship method in Bua Rani Mandir is a combination of Hindu and Muslim practices. As traditionally done in Jammu and Kashmir, devotees offer prayers to both Lord Shiva and the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The ritual starts with ringing of bells and singing of hymns. Once the prayers are over, the devotees break prasad (a ritual offering of food) where they consume sweet rice, the prasad of Bua Rani.
