Spalding Seventh Day Adventist Church is a Christian denomination that believes in the teachings of Jesus Christ and keeps the Sabbath, or Saturday, as the day of worship. Founded in Spalding, England, in 1872, the church has since expanded to 10 countries and three continents. History The Spalding Seventh Day Adventist Church was founded by William and Margaret Seager in 1872. The church first began meeting in the Seager’s home before moving to a purpose-built church building in 1875. The following year, the church was officially recognised as a Seventh Day Adventist Church after being accepted into the denomination. The first pastors of the “new” church were C.T. Walker and J.W. Spiers. In 1896, the church built a school, which was known as the Spalding Seventh Day Adventist School. The school served students from ages 6-14 and was run by the church’s pastor at the time, John Scott. The school closed in 1907, due to financial difficulties. Services The Spalding Seventh Day Adventist Church seeks to provide spiritual guidance, fellowship, and service to its members and the community at large. The church’s programs include weekly worship services, Bible study groups, youth activities and camps, mission trips and service projects, residential retreats, and food banks and clothing drives. The church also holds annual special events such as its Harvest Thanksgiving Dinner and Christmas concert.
