The first Seventh-day Adventist Church in Jamaica was founded in 1875 in Kingston. Ten years later, in 1885, the first Seventh-day Adventist Church in Brown's Town was established as a missionary station and was under the leadership of a committee of local ministers. In 1925, Reverend Ezra H. Norton arrived in Brown's Town. He worked hard to reorganize the local congregation and was successful in getting a church built. In January 1926 the Brown's Town Seventh-day Adventist Church was officially established. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Jamaica.
