History:

The cornerstone of the church was laid in May, 1829 by the Earl of Selkirk. Construction of the church was completed in December, 1830 and the church was consecrated by Bishop John Strachan on August 24, 1836. The church was built in the style of classic Gothic architecture, with a pyramidal steeple, stained glass windows, and hand carved interior pews and altars.
