History:
The parish began in 1967 when Father John Grow was installed as the founding pastor. Father Grow took on the charge of leading the new community from its meager beginnings of less than 25 members. Shortly after, St. Joseph's school was founded and has grown over the years to serve families of all faiths. The Sisters of St. Francis have been part of the parish since 1978 and serve as an example of the great faith and commitment of the parish. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Jamaica.

Our Lady of perpetual help Roman Catholic Church is part of the Diocese of Camden. The parish is active in many organizations, including the Knights of Columbus, Cub and Boy Scouts and Theology on Tap. They also host many events such as a monthly spaghetti dinner, a Christmas bazaar and a monthly youth group meeting.
Services:
The parish offers many services, including daily Mass, Adoration, Rite of Christian Initiation, Reconciliation, Adult Faith Formation and Sacramental Administration. They also provide Eucharistic ministries and Baptismal services. The church also offers free CCD classes to children and adult religious education classes. The church has a food pantry which serves the local community. The parish also has a strong commitment to social justice and serves those in need, such as the elderly and those living in poverty.This beautiful church in Jamaica has made a lot of significance in the past.
