Brief History:
: Al-Uzair Mosque is a mosque located in Najaf in Iraq. The mosque was built on the site of a shrine dating to the 8th century. The shrine was originally erected by King Uzzair, the biblical figure known to Muslims as Uzair. The shrine was destroyed in 1843 but was rebuilt as a mosque shortly afterwards. The mosque is known as a holy site for Shi'i Muslims and is widely seen as the most important religious building in Iraq. It is believed that the mosque holds the tombs of Hazrat Ali and several other Imams of the Twelver Shi'a branch of Islam. It is one of the most famous mosque in Iraq which you must visit.

Address: Az Zuhrah St, Najaf, Iraq Getting There: By Air: Najaf International Airport (IFN) is located just 7 km away from Al-Uzair Mosque. The airport provides regular scheduled and chartered flights to major cities in Iraq. By Bus: Buses to Najaf arrive regularly at the central bus station from cities across Iraq. The journey from Baghdad takes around 4-5 hours. By Car: There are plenty of car rental companies at the airport that provide cars to reach the Al-Uzair Mosque. Taxis are also available at the bus station and airport. By Train: Trains are not available for this route. beautiful masjid.
