Brief History:
is located in the Kadhimyah area of Baghdad, Iraq. It is one of the oldest mosques in the city, and was constructed in 1150 by the Abbasid Caliph Al-Mustanjid. It is built in the Persian-style and mirrored the architecture of the Great Mosque of Samarra. The mosque served as a major place of Islamic learning and pilgrimage for centuries, until it was destroyed by British bombs during World War II. In 2020, after more than 70 years, Al-Aqsa Mosque was finally restored and reopened to the public. It is one of the most famous mosque in Iraq which you must visit.
