Overview:
The Tomb of Sikander Shah is an ancient mausoleum located in Farrukhnagar, Gurgaon District, Haryana, India. The complex is situated on a platform and consists of a single domed chamber with an arched entrance. It was built by the Lodhi dynasty Sultan Sikander Lodhi (1489-1517 CE) as a monument to his father, Sultan Mahmud Lodhi. This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
The Tomb of Sikander Shah is notable for its architectural style, which is an amalgamation of Hindu, Persian and Turko-Mongolian styles. The building is constructed with stone and is topped with a slightly curving dome. The dome is decorated with plasterwork and ornamental features. It is surrounded by a series of columned arches.
