The Afsah-walla-ki-Masjid is one of the oldest and most iconic mosques in Delhi. The mosque was constructed by one of the powerful Mughal governors of the time, Nawab Fazl Ali Khan. It is located near the Agra Road and has been an important religious destination for the Muslims of Delhi for centuries. The mosque is also known for its majestic structure and has several other notable monuments nearby. This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
The Afsah-walla-ki-Masjid is most known for the four walls that compose the building. These walls are faced in different directions, so that they can direct the prayers in different directions. The mosque also has three large domes at the center of the structure which serve as the passages to the higher floors of the building. The interiors of the mosque are covered with stunning carvings and paintings, depicting verses from the Quran. You must visit one of these historical places in India on your India tour

The mosque was constructed in the year 1720 by Nawab Fazl Ali Khan using Afghan building techniques. The mosque has been in use since then, and has seen many changes over time. After the construction, in 1739, the mosque was damaged by an earthquake and had to be reconstructed. Later, in 1992, it underwent a major renovation.
