Sudama Cave In India: History,Facts, & Services
Overview:
Sudama Cave is a Hindu pilgrimage site located in Madhya Pradesh, India. The cave is commonly referred to as ‘Gokarna’ and is dedicated to Lord Krishna and his ‘Sudama’ (oldest school friend). It is located in the Satpuras Tiger Reserve, about 20 km south of Amanganj, in Panna district. This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
The cave is a naturally formed hollow in the rock cut into a oval shape. It has three distinct chambers, the most impressive of which is the largest and the one in the middle. Inside, you’ll find four Shivalingas of different sizes and four idols of Goddess Lakshmi. You must visit one of these historical places in India on your India tour

The Sudama Cave is believed to have been created from a single rock by Lord Shambhu in the Treta Yuga (second period of four in the Hindu religion). It is said that Lord Krishna as Sudama visited this cave during their school days, and the cave has since been visited by devotees to pay homage to the gods and religious figures associated with it.
