The walls of the mosque are decorated with lime plaster and have intricate carvings. The mosque stands as a tribute to the Mughal architecture and is a famous tourist attraction. There are a number of festivals which are conducted here and visitors can offer prayers and perform rituals. The main gate is shaped into an arch, giving it an elegant look. Architecture:
The Shahi Jama Masjid is an ancient Islamic religious monument located in the city of Rohtak in the state of Haryana. The mosque was built in 1751 during the reign of the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan and is one of the few surviving examples of Mughal architecture in the region. The exterior of the mosque is made from sandstone, while the interior is constructed of marble. The entrance of the mosque features two large minarets at either side while the main prayer hall has a large dome atop of its roof. The walls and interiors of the mosque are extensively decorated in traditional kaleidoscopic Islamic patterns and motifs. There is also a spacious courtyard located outside of the mosque, along with a large pool of water that is used for ritual ablution before entering the mosque. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
