Overview:
Saraj-Sad-ullah is situated about 25 kms from the district headquarters of West Champaran. The town is mainly known for its quaint beauty and its ancient monuments. The area is said to be linked to the legend of Mahabharata. The town is surrounded by the old fort of Mahatta, which is the main attraction here. Other architectural attractions in the town include royal palaces and a temple devoted to goddess Adinath. This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
Saraj-Sad-ullah is known for its monuments and buildings related to the old kingdom of Mahatta. The main attractions in the township are the temples devoted to Adinath and an old fort, as well as other architectural wonders. Savitri Temple, also known as a Shakti temple is a major tourist attraction in Saraj Sadullah. It is believed that Goddess Sati’s last remains are enshrined here.
