The Ruins at Sarthe Rangpha comprise of a fortified city located on the remote highland plateau in Nakhon Sawan Province of Thailand. The ruins are believed to have been the seat of power for the semi-autonomous principalities which rose during the 12th century, and their legacy continues to this day. History:
The Ruins at Sarthe Rangpha, originally known as Muang Mueang, include a system of interconnected walls and towers built in the 12th century. These walls, extending up to 1,500 meters in circumference, were strategically located to control the routes of passage through the countryside and to protect the city. The ruins also reveal a complex array of stepped terraces and moats, which are believed to be ancient defensive mechanisms.
