Rayagopuram(Unfinished), Mamallapuram is a massive Hindu temple complex located in the town of Mamallapuram in Tamil Nadu, India. The complex is believed to have been constructed by the Pallava dynasty in the 7th century. The unfinished temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is located on the north side of the original Shore Temple complex. In recent years, Rayagopuram(Unfinished), Mamallapuram has become a popular tourist attraction in the state. This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
Rayagopuram(Unfinished), Mamallapuram is famous for its architectural grandeur, impressive sculptures and intricate stone carvings. It is one of the most important temples of the Pallava Dynasty. The temple is known for its unfinished magnificence and the amazing carvings on its walls. A huge Nandi (guard statue) is placed on the temple's entrance and this in turn leads to the mandapa (pillared pavilion).
