According to traditions, Lord Vishnu had appeared as Raghunatha, one of the 24 forms of divine incarnation, during Tretayuga to save the devotees of Sitaramachandra Prayanam. The temple is built in the Vijayanagara style of architecture and is believed to have been constructed in 12th century. This temple is also known as "Tirupati Venkatachalam". History:
Raghunatha Swami Temple has a two-tiered vimana with the upper tier dedicated to Raghunatha. The entrance gate has a sculpture of Lord Vishnu's horse, Garuda, facing the temple. The pillared hall around the sanctum contains several sculptural panels depicting the stories from the Puranas.
