Overview:
warnath Mahadev Temple is an ancient Hindu temple located in the city of Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, India. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva, one of the most important gods of the Hindu faith. The temple is believed to have been in existence since the 11th century and is among the most important religious sites in India. The temple stands alongside the banks of the Ganges River, on the northern shore of the main city. It features a complex architecture and is believed to have been established by the Pandavas, the legendary five brothers who are central to the Hindu epic, Mahabharata. This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
The temple complex features several small shrines dedicated to various Hindu gods and goddesses, in addition to the main shrine of Lord Shiva. The temple also has a small pond near it, with water flowing from the Ganges. There is a large courtyard with a large number of small shrines surrounding it.
