Overview:
Parvati Temple is a popular Hindu temple located in Pune, India. This temple is dedicated to the worship of the Hindu Goddess Parvati, consort of the Hindu Lord Shiva. It is one of the oldest structure in Pune, built in the year 1749 by Balaji Baji Rao, the Peshwa (ruler of the Maratha Empire). This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
The main attraction of the Parvati Temple is the sanctum sanctorum which houses the statue of Goddess Parvati. The temple also features several shrines dedicated to various Hindu Gods and Goddesses, including Maa Parvati, Lord Shiva, Lord Ganesha, Lord Hanuman, Lord Vishnu, Lord Brahma and Sant Dnyaneshwar. The temple also features several sculptures depicting various episodes from Hindu mythology. You must visit one of these historical places in India on your India tour
