Navlakha Kothar In India: History,Facts, & Services
Overview:
Navlakha Kothar is situated on the Ratnagiri-Kankavali highway, and is surrounded by lush green hills and lush vegetation. The fort is believed to be around 300 years old and was originally built by the Maratha ruler Chhatrapati Shivaji. It is an important landmark in the history of Ratnagiri and an excellent example of Maratha architecture. This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
The primary features of Navlakha Kothar include its imposing spires, walls, gates, and bastions. It is believed to have been constructed during Chhatrapati Shivaji’s reign, and is considered to be an important reminder of his rule. The main gate of the fort stands in the center of the complex, and is faced by two smaller battlements. Inside, there are temples dedicated to Lord Shiva, including a temple dedicated to the deity Tulsi. You must visit one of these historical places in India on your India tour
