Overview:
Nagothana Bridge is an amazing 8-lane bridge located in the picturesque Konkan region. The bridge was constructed at a cost of about Rs. 150 Crores in the year 2018. It is the first bridge in India to be constructed using “Accelerated Bridge Construction”, which relies on pre-fabricated parts. The bridge is 840m long and 5m wide and helps to drastically reduce the journey time between Mumbai and Goa. This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
The most amazing feature of the Nagothana Bridge is the 8-lane main span, with a total width of 35 meters. The main span comprises of 6 lanes of traffic, a footpath and an emergency lane, making it a truly grand engineering feat. The bridge also features a sophisticated hydraulic system that closes the bridge within seconds in case of any emergency. You must visit one of these historical places in India on your India tour

The state government of Maharashtra began constructing the Nagothana bridge in the year 2014, during the tenure of the Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan.
