Mound at Shahabad is an archaeological site located at the village of Shahabad in the Gulbarga district of Karnataka. The hill is located about 2 km from the town of Shahabad. It is believed to have been built in the 11th century as part of the Chalukya dynasty. This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
The Mound at Shahabad is known for its Buddhist stupas and the magnificent sculpture of Jain Tirthankar Neminath. The Mound also holds remnants of the Chalukyan Age in the form of stepped tanks and water harvesting structures, along with stone carved structures.
