sque of Ala Vardi Khan, also known as Vardigarh Mosque, is a magnificent Mughal-era structure situated in the walled city of Jaipur, Rajasthan. Built in 1666 AD, the shrine was commissioned by the famous Mughal general, Mirza Raja Jai Singh I (Ala Vardi Khan). The stunning structure, embellished with intricate fountains, intricate hanging galleries, and large colonnades, is a prime example of the Mughal architectural style. This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
The Mosque of Ala Vardi Khan is renowned for its grand design and Islamic artwork. The structure features a large rectangular Jami Masjid, embellished with a large courtyard and four smaller upper galleries surrounding it. The interior of the mosque is flanked by two handsome minarets, each over 20 meters high and decorated in Mughal-styled jali work with lotus motifs. Other highlights of the mosque include exquisitely carved walls, patterned arches, and horseshoe-shaped structures covered with glazed tiles.
