Overview:
The Saraswathy Temple, located in Koothattukulam, Kerala, India, is dedicated to Saraswathy, the goddess of knowledge and wisdom. The temple was constructed in the 16th century and is part of the Thrikandiyur Sri Maha Deva temple complex. Saraswathy is regarded as the consort of Lord Brahma, the creator of the universe, and is known as the goddess of learning and music. The temple is constructed in traditional Kerala style architecture and is believed to have been built during the reign of Chera king, King Udayamarthanda Varma. This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
The main attraction of the Saraswathy Temple is the eight-sided carved Shikara, which is the tower or spire of the temple. Another notable feature is the large pond in the temple, which is known as the Thirunneerckadu pond. This pond is believed to be over 1000 years old and is said to have been constructed by the Chera kings. You must visit one of these historical places in India on your India tour
