Overview:
Marble Baradari including tank is a beautiful monument located in Rohtas Fort in Pakistan. It was built by the Indian emperor Sher Shah Suri in 1540 as a part of the fortification of this region. This Baradari was instrumental in the strategies of defense in the region, since the emperor wanted to protect the lands and cities under his rule. It is also believed that this Baradari served as a hunting spot and a resting place for him and his courtiers while they were on their travels. The Marble Baradari including tank is a large and beautiful structure consisting of two pavilion like structures connected by a tank. The Baradari is made from locally found hard red stone and is designed in a very symmetrical architecture.
