Maqbara is a mausoleum located at the site of Yellamma temple at Babatengad in Degaon, Bijapur, Karnataka. The mausoleum was built to commemorate the death of Haider Ali’s father, Fath Muhammad and was completed in 1783. This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.

History:

The Maqbara is noted for its intricate carvings, with domed and verandah structures built of pink stone. The central dome is surrounded by a dozen mini-domes, which are in turn surrounded by statues in the shape of flower petals. The façade has numerous carved arches with intricate designs, and at the center of the arches is a large doorway with small arched windows. The inner chambers of the mausoleum are magnificently decorated with large Islamic inscriptions written in beautiful floral patterns.
