Lat-ki-Masjid is an ancient mosque located in the city of Faizabad, in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. It is popularly known for its architectural beauty and is visited by large number of tourists every year. History:
Lat-ki-Masjid was built in 17th century and is made entirely out of red sandstone. The mosque is based on a single storey plan and has large open prayer halls and small private chambers in the back. The main prayer hall is surrounded by four towers and the prayer chamber has a dome at the top. It also has a series of arches and intricate designs adding to its aesthetic appeal. Lat-ki-Masjid is one of the few surviving mosques of its era. It exhibits a unique blend of the Mughal, Rajput, and Afghan styles of architecture.
