Overview:
samveswara Swami Temple is a popular and significant temple dedicated to Lord Kamalasamveswarm in Srisailam, Andra Pradesh, India. The temple is one of the most important temples dedicated to Lord Shiva in the region and attracts thousands of devotees all year round. The temple was built by the then King of Pothigai, Maharaja Yoganandha. This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
The main deity of the temple is Lord Shiva in the form of a four-armed lingam. Alongside, a form of Kamalasamveswara Swami is present in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. The temple is also known for its beautiful and intricate sculptures of Hindu gods and goddesses which are believed to have been carved by the Chalukya dynasty kings who ruled during the 8th and 9th centuries.
