The Jama Masjid in Hyderabad is believed to have been built in 1694 and is one of the most important mosques in the city. It is a rectangular structure, with two massive minarets flanking the entrance. The mosque also features a façade with two large, curved arches on either end. Inside is an open court, with a double aisle of pointed arches leading to a prayer hall. On either end of the prayer hall, there are two large domes supported by four columns. An octagonal platform in the center of the prayer hall is where the Imam stands to lead the prayer. The walls of the mosque are decorated with inscriptions in Arabic, as well as floral and geometric patterns. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
