wara Mahadev temple, also referred to as Gokarna Mahadev temple, is a renowned Hindu temple to Lord Shiva and one of the oldest temples in India. It is located in the town of Gokarna in Karnataka, India. It is believed that the temple was built during the time of the Mahabharata, and the Shiva Linga installed by Ravana. The temple is known for its spiritual and historic importance as well as its architectural beauty. This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
This ancient temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is one of the oldest existing temples in India. The temple has a five-tiered tower which stands at about 55 feet high and is adorned with artistic stonework. The temple structure is made of granite and is known for its excellent carvings.
