Overview:
The Gateway of Khan Sarover is a grand archway located in the city of Gorgan, in the Iranian province of Golestan. It was built in the year 1237 by renowned architect Muhammad Zaman Jafari, during the reign of the Khwarazmian Dynasty. This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
The striking feature of the structure is its curved facade, made of bricks, which stands out in comparison to the other buildings around it. The design of the arch includes intricate brickwork, glazed tiles, and inscriptions in Kufic, Thulth and Nastaliq scripts. In addition, the arch is decorated with glazed mosaic tiles and colored faience in blue, green and yellow. You must visit one of these historical places in India on your India tour

The Gateway of Khan Sarover has become popular across Iran and is often referred to as the “Tower of Tears”, since it is said to have been the site of a great massacre of innocents by Mongke Khan's invading troops.
