Fort Bhatner In India: History,Facts, & Services
Overview:
The fort stands almost intact since it was built and is of great archaeological importance. It is built upon a sandstone hillock and is believed to have been constructed in the late 11th century. It covers an area of 30 acres, enclosing 12 temples and a few other structures. It is surrounded by a strong fortification wall, with several bastions and gateways. This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
The most prominent feature of the fort is the temple, which is believed to be dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is believed that the main temple was constructed in 843 AD by a Rajput warrior named Maha Padma. Other temples seen in the fort are dedicated to goddesses Laxmi and Saraswati. There are also three gateways known as Singa Darwaja, Pahad Burj, and Gop Borj. You must visit one of these historical places in India on your India tour
